Cursed

Here's a downloadable version - totally free, huzzah! - of my novel Cursed, written under the pseudonym Emma Benedict. If you like it, you can also pay for the printed version on Amazon. It has a nice cover by Waterhouse. To download, click here or on the image. You'll be taken to Google Docs, where you can save the file to your own computer. I'd love to know what you think! And don't forget to tell your friends...

Summary:
For fans of Stardust and The Princess Bride, this romantic comedy based on a traditional medieval folktale will enchant you. Amans is a loser in love - practised at wooing ladies, but not so much at keeping them. When a knowledgeable friar comes into his path, promising wisdom in the form of a tale, Amans is forced to listen...

The young Princess Alyse is turned into a hag by a vengeful sorceress, whom Alyse tries to stop marrying her father. For nine years, she is forced to live alone in the woods, separated from her family and her home. The terms of the curse are harsh - only the love of a true knight, who doesn't know her true status, can reverse it. Given that every man tries to kill her on sight, it seems well nigh unbreakable. Until a childhood friend returns - Florent de Gower, now Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. When he becomes next on the sorceress's list of targets, it's up to Alyse to save his head. And perhaps, save herself into the bargain.

Before the tale is done, Amans will learn what it is women truly want most.
